Departments Overview
Nairobi Grace Chapel is a vibrant church community that is organized into various departments to cater to the diverse needs of its members.
All departments, men, women, youth are clustered into small fellowship groups called “care groups” of between 5-10 members who meet once a month.
Some of these care groups meet separately, either as men-only or women-only, to accommodate work and family schedules. The early Christian church also met regularly in smaller groups within each city, where they could practice the “one-another’s” in a context small enough to practice them. The small size of these groups helps in building a strong community that prioritizes Christ above all else in every aspect of life.
Care groups are not clustered according to any categories. Rather, they integrate everyone irrespective of age difference, marital status etc. so as to share experiences with people from different levels of life
Men’s department
Men are called to be leaders in their families, communities, and churches. But today’s world can make it challenging to live a Christ-centered life. The pressures to conform to a worldly view of masculinity can distance us from God.
That’s why the men’s ministry at NGC exists. It’s a place where men can connect with brothers who share the same vision, values, and struggles. Here, you’ll learn from God’s Word, pray for one another, and serve together. We believe in supporting each other to become the men God created us to be.
The men’s department is open to all ages and offers a variety of activities, including:
1. Quarterly men’s breakfasts
2.Monthly open forums on relevant topics
3 .The “Man Enough” program: a 3-week series that challenges men to embrace biblical masculinity and live free from the constraints of toxic masculinity
Women’s Department
At Nairobi Grace Chapel, we celebrate the legacy of women in kingdom service, from the days of Deborah to the ministry of Phoebe. Our Women’s Department continues this tradition by uplifting, empowering, and nurturing women in all aspects of life.
If you have a hand for women and discipleship, then NGC women department is a place for you, where teams work and dreams work
The team comprises over 200 active women organized into 9 cell groups to provide personalized support through home fellowships. This close-knit fellowship offers solace and sisterhood during significant life events such as childbirth, celebrations, prayer during sickness, and encouragement during times of loss.
The department also has subgroups like singles and windows.
Events and Activities
- Women’s Conference: An intensive multi-day experience featuring inspiring Christian teaching, worship, and prayer.
- Retreats: Opportunities for spiritual renewal and connection with fellow women.
- Training and Seminars: Equipping women with practical tools for personal and spiritual growth.
Couples Department
Couples ministry is a very crucial ministry in the church. For a functionally good and strong church, we need functionally good and strong families. That is why the couples’ ministry is in existence to enhance that and mold families into biblical representation of marriage. Couples get taught on the biblical perspective of marriage and get to understand their biblical ascribed roles as husband and wife guided by the scriptural metaphorical analogy of church as the bride of Christ as the groom as in Ephesians 5:22-33 and 2 Corinthians 11:1-4 . It also provides premarital counseling to those seeking to get married by aligning their expectations to more realistic ones, clear some societal misconceptions on marriage, pray for and with them, and take them through transitioning from singlehood to marriage.
The Ministry plans periodic activities to enhance fellowship like :
- special meal day which can either be couples breakfast, lunch or dinner, annually for each of the eat out.
- Couples retreats
- Couples seminars
- Valentines dinner to their events.
Discipleship Department
Mathew 28:18-20 talks of the great commission. The disciples were obligated to preach the gospel and make more disciples. It is in line with that great commission that the NGC discipleship department exists. It is concerned with promoting an in-depth understanding of the gospel of Christ and growth in faith by taking members through classes on the foundation of the Christian faith. It mainly targets New Christians whose solid foundation in scripture is vital for their spiritual growth in this walk of faith. It basically concerns itself with, but not limited to non-believers, new converts and those who look forward to being baptized.
Ushering Department
This is yet another crucial department of the church since it extends the pastoral work of inviting and welcoming people into the church. In the old testaments, ushers were referred to as doorkeepers as in 2 Kings 22:1. From this, the ushering role of collecting offerings is seen. Not only that but also ensuring the smooth operation of the church service by keeping off distractions. This department is committed to ensuring the organization of the church by arranging seats on Saturday, guiding members into their seats on Sunday and welcoming our visitors.
Media Department
In the age where technology is the new order of events, the church is not left behind. The NGC church is onboard to inculcate technological advancements in the spreading of the gospel to all within and without. We have a media ministry to cater for the virtual church and to keep tabs with the visually driven church. The NGC media ministry is tasked with providing in house technological services like projecting song lyrics, projecting scriptures, announcements among others, camera operations during service and broadcast the service on our social media platforms for our e-church.
In liaison with the sound team, they provide support by ensuring sound projection is up to standards.
Hospitality Department
This team is responsible for providing refreshment for the visitors after every service.
This department also deals with the hospitable reception of visitors on behalf of the church. We make them understand who the NGC families are and invite them to fellowship if they don’t have a home church.
Meetings are done immediately after both services.
Security Department
This department is put in place to ensure physical safety and counter an emergency before it happens within the church premises during but not limited to church service and other church functions. Not only that, but also the physical properties of church members like cars, motorbikes and bicycles among others. We have patrol officers patrolling the parking lot and the church perimeter. Our security works around the clock to keep the church vicinity safe.
